MOC of the Week: LEGO Christmas Train

It’s that time of year again (every year seems to go faster than the last). Christmas is drawing ever closer and this week’s MOC of the Week comes from Galaktek. He describes this LEGO Christmas-themed micro-scale train as “a decorative train for the mantelpiece.” Galaktek even goes so far as to include a set of breakdown photos for those who want to build their own little LEGO Christmas train. 🙂 LEGO Christmas Train by GalaktekGalaktek started off building micro space creations and posting them on Flickr and has branched out into building vehicles and other interesting models recently. Next week, we have an amazing LEGO Santa’s sleigh model to look forward to. For now, you can check out Galaktek’s Flickr photostream here and his MOCpages account page right here.

As I am away on holiday now, there will be no articles or anything new until Saturday the 14th, when normal posting will continue. Expect any comments to not be moderated until I get back. Thank you for your co-operation.

LEGO Star Wars 2014 Microfighters and More Sets Revealed

After we published the LEGO Star Wars 2014 official set images, some more images were revealed. They include two more System sets (75044 Droid Tri-Fighter and 75046 Coruscant Police Gunship) and a series of six “Microfighter” sets (micro-scale models of ships or vehicles with minifigures sitting on top). Below, you can have a look at the Microfighters, courtesy of Hoth Bricks, and the two other sets, thanks to Brickshop Holland. All the Microfighters sets are priced at US$9.99.

75044 Droid Tri-Fighter and 75046 Coruscant Police Gunship

For me, the Microfighters are pretty cute and include some okay minifigures and are definitely better than the past planet series’. The Droid Tri-Fighter doesn’t really do it for me (partly because it’s a remake of 2009’s 8086 set), but it does have some better minifigures than 8086. According to Wookieepedia, 75046 is from the Clone Wars TV episode, “To Catch A Jedi“, and the set comes with the new spring-loaded missile function.
