Warner Brothers Making LEGO Ninjago Movie

Warner Brothers Making LEGO Ninjago MovieComingSoon.net and The Hollywood Reporter are reporting today that after Warner Brothers saw the success and excitement over the teaser trailer for their upcoming feature-length LEGO movie, they decided to go ahead and start drawing up plans to create a film for the LEGO Ninjago theme.

Dan Hageman and Kevin Hageman who have been credited for working on The LEGO Movie and the immensely popular LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu TV series are also going to be writing the story for their next big feature film, based on LEGO Ninjago.

If all this is true and Warner Brothers are actually making this LEGO Ninjago movie, then Ninjago fans are in for a treat. It seems as though LEGO Legends of Chima has sort of backfired and LEGO has been forced to keep Ninjago, even after trying to create loads of publicity for Chima. Warner Brothers and LEGO announced that they were working on a feature film awhile ago and recently released more information, images and a trailer for their upcoming LEGO Movie, which is set to come out on February 7th 2013. Read excerpts from The Hollywood Reporter’s story below:

Warner Bros. is so high on its upcoming The Lego Movie that it is moving forward with another big-screen take based on the popular toy.

The Cartoon Network series is set in the fictional world of Ninjago, a place inspired by Chinese and Japanese myths and culture and features dragons and mystical snakes like the Great Devourer. The main character is Kai, the red ninja of fire. The film will feature a new take that diverges from the TV series.

Warner Bros.-based Dan Lin and Roy Lee, who are producing The Lego Movie, will produce Ninjago alongside Miller and Lord. The directing duo will not helm Ninjago, however, but are close to attaching a director. Lego’s Jill Wilfert, who oversees all the Lego movies on behalf of the company, is executive producing.

What do you think about Warner Brothers producing another LEGO movie? Are you excited to see Ninjago in the movies some time in the near future?
