Mike McCooey, who many of you guys will know from his amazing ultra-poseable LEGO brick-built figures, sent in this LEGO Black Spider-Man figure for this week’s MOC of the Week category. Mike finished the model and uploaded it to Flickr, MOCpages and LEGO CUUSOO back in May and has built many other figures for other super heroes such as Hulk, Iron Man, classic Spider-Man, Batman and Deadpool. Mike also plans to build other heroes such as Captain Americta in the future with LEGO bricks.
Fans of the Spider-Man movie trilogy by Sam Raimi will know that Spider-Man’s “black suit” or “Symbiote costume” appeared in the third film in the trilogy and came from a meteor that hit in Central Park and got inside Peter Parker’s body and brought out Spider-Man’s dark side. The black substance changed Peter and he only realizes it after using it against Sandman and Harry Osbourne.
He struggles to get rid of the symbiote and finally does, only to find that Eddie Brock, a rival photographer at the Daily Bugle, bonds with the black symbiote and transforms into Venom. Venom and Sandman unite against Spider-Man. At the end of the film, Sandman, Eddie, Harry and the symbiote all die in a massive battle at a high-rise construction site in New York. Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson live happily ever after.
