Kingdoms is a Castle sub-theme, that is the direct successor to the Castle theme from 2007. It was introduced in mid-2010 and discontinued in early 2012. Kingdoms sets describe the battles between two factions, the Lion Kingdom and the Dragon Kingdom. The theme’s predecessor, Castle, later replaced Kingdoms in 2013 as LEGO’s latest medieval theme.

LEGO has released images of the new LEGO Kingdoms Chess Set! The set contains 328 pieces and costs $49.99 USD (now available at LEGO.com). It also includes 32 minifigures. However, it is only available in North America at the moment.
